3 Things to Enjoy in Kingston during the Winter Season

Halloween has passed and so has the first snowfall; the Wintery Holiday season is upon us here in Kingston. It’s the time of year where downtown is illuminated with Christmas lights and decorations. Whether you’re are Kingston native or a first year Queen’s student, you may start wondering what this city has to offer this time of year. Lucky for you, we’ve already done that part for you and present you three great things to do in Kingston during the holiday season.

Kingston Holiday Pop Up Market

The Kingston Holiday market has just kicked off it’s 2017 season by opening doors on November 18th and running for six consecutive weeks until December 23rd. Drop by any of these weekends for some festive fun with plenty of restaurants, stores and vendors offering their absolute best goods in one location. The market acts as a one stop shop for all your Holiday shopping needs with plenty of homemade gifts on display from Kingston’s finest artisans.

Skating in the Square

Skating in downtown Kingston is truly an experience you do not want to miss. The environment presents you with beautiful downtown architecture surrounding the rink, crisp winter air and the bright lights shining down on you in the night time. The rink is set to open late November or early December depending on weather connections. Suitable to bring the family to, a quick solo rip or even a great date idea, skating in the rink is something you do not want to miss this holiday season. Hoping Lake Ontario Freezes Over

This one is extremely weather permitting, but there is something extremely beautiful about seeing one of the world’s greatest bodies of water to be completely covered in ice. Just take our word for it. If it freezes over…check it out. Just take our word for it. It is a stunning view, great for photos, skating and will really make you appreciate Mother nature at work.
